Joining the Center for Informatics Research in Science and Scholoarship (CIRSS, Formerly Library Research Center) in October 2005, Project Coordinator Lauren Teffeau has extensive training in social science research, including focus group moderation, content analysis, survey design, and data analysis thanks to her work at the University of Georgia's Cox Center for International Mass Communication Training and Research. She has served as a corporate communications consultant and has a strong background in publishing due to her work with the McGraw-Hill Companies and the University of Georgia's research communications department.

Her research interests include communication technologies, media effects, film studies, young adult literature, and the production of meaning. Teffeau earned her bachelor's degree in English from Clemson University in 2003 and her master's in mass communication with an emphasis in telecommunications from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia in 2005.
